“This class is very relaxing and Gabrielle’s voice is from heaven.”

“I love this class. It is a great stretch and it feels great. I actually rescheduled standing appointments so I can take the whole session!”

“Unlike other yoga classes I have tried, this is perfect for my speed. This is exactly what I need.”

“Wonderful class. I have tears in my achilles tendon and have spent months healing my leg and not able to do any exercise. This was wonderful not only for healing that injury but also for stretching my back and hips. I know I can’t come to a regular yoga class so it is so relieving to know there is a class I can come to like this. It was just the right amount challenging but never too challenging.”

Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, and fascia) and has roots in Taoist yoga.  It can assist the body to prepare for meditation, as it aids the joints of the body in becoming more mobile and fluid.  A Yin practice stimulates the flow of prana, or qi, and is a lovely way to dive deeper into the body to experience the energy flow there.   An invitation to stillness awaits you in this safe loving space, where you will be guided through a series of poses designed to target these often neglected areas of the body.

This class is part of Healing Point's Recovery Movement Arts program. Though this is not chair yoga, participants in our classes have included people recovering from cancer or other chronic illness, knee replacements, hip replacements, limited range of motion from injuries, and more.

"I can't thank you enough for offering the yin yoga class. I was humming all night ;-) I plan to make this a permanent part of my self-care routine."

Gentle Yoga for Tranquility with Heather Thamer RYT500

Tuesday 10:30–11:30
*this class is currently full*

In this gentle yoga class, the emphasis is on promoting healing, while moving slowly through poses, stretches and restorative sequences. During these yoga classes, participants are led through breathing techniques, yoga postures and meditation methods to promote healing, and restore a sense of well-being.

Most of the class is done seated in a chair with an emphasis on gentle joint exercises, slow stretches to help keep muscles limber and strong, and breathing techniques to instill calm and inner balance. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace and all poses can be modified to individual needs. Students explore a few standing poses as an option but the emphasis is on supporting each individual where they are that class.
